Welcome to Ozarks Health Advocacy Foundation (OHAF)!

We exist for the sole purpose of seeing healthier, happier children in this beautiful area around Springfield, Missouri. With so many young people in our region in dire need of critical healthcare, we are proud to be a widely recognized charitable foundation that is making a difference in their lives. Our purpose at OHAF is to provide much-needed monetary support to 501(c)(3) organizations that address critical health needs in the following counties in Southwest Missouri.

Counties we serve

Our goal is to support nonprofit agencies that work tirelessly to address children’s critical physical, mental, and dental health needs in the Ozarks area. No child should have to suffer from chronic illness, injury, or life-threatening and debilitating health conditions solely due to a lack of funds. That’s where we come in. With optimum health as the goal, we provide the means through grantmaking with the provision of funds that will make healthcare possible.

We have two primary grant cycles, which all applicants must be aware of to receive their grant approvals in time. Check our schedule below and choose the cycle that works best for you. We highly recommend that you have all your documents completed accurately and ready to submit in time for your preferred grant cycle to ensure a smooth application process and timely awarding of the funds. Your beneficiaries need you, and we are here to make your assistance possible with the money that is needed, so don’t miss out on the next grant cycle.

The Summer Cycle

Concept letters for grants to be awarded in July are due the last working day in March.

The Winter Cycle

Concept letters for grants to be awarded in February are due the last working day in September.

How it works

Concept Letter

Submit a one-page concept letter describing the purpose of your request, including the critical health needs to be addressed, the amount requested, the proposed budget and your organization’s contact information.

Grant Application

Our team will review your letter, and if your concept letter is approved, you will be asked to submit a complete grant application, which will require more detailed information about how the grant will be put to use.

Progress Report

Approximately one year after receipt of your funds, you are required to complete a progress report sharing your success story with us. We’ll send out a reminder about one month prior to your due date. You’ll want to have your report, along with receipts, ready to submit by your progress report deadline. This is a great way to let us know how the grant money helped the recipients in need of healthcare.

Recognizing our Child Health Advocate of the Year

The recipient receives a $5,000 unrestricted grant to their employer in their honor!

We grant this award in the fall of each year to recognize the warriors and champions of children’s needs. Nominate an employee of an area nonprofit agency who is an outstanding advocate for critical health issues concerning local children. We’ll recognize the recipient of the Child Health Advocate of the Year award at the Association of Fundraising Professionals National Philanthropy Day Luncheon in mid-November. The recipient receives a $5,000 unrestricted grant to their employer in their honor.
